Bhubaneswar, Oct 17 (LocalWire): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today withdrew its earlier order of sealing the office of Bhubaneswar MP and BJP leader Aparajita Sarangi.
The order came after the civic body allowed opening of all the sealed offices and premises in the city which were closed after reported violation of Coronavirus rules.
Her office was sealed by the BMC on October 10 on charges of violation of Coronavirus rules after her video of celebrating her birthday with her supporters sans masks and social distancing went viral.
“In pursuance of decision taken by the BMC to open all closed down shops, commercial establishments and institutions in view of the ensuing puja celebration, the sealing order for the MP’s office functioning at Plot no A/56, Palaspalli is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect,” the order said.
Sarangi however had been accusing the BMC of biased nature and punishing her for political reasons.
Today, the BJP leader also held a press conference and cited reasons on how the BMC sealing was illegal in nature.
