Paradip, November 5 (LocalWire): Six fishermen here had a close shave as a mechanised vessel in which they were traveling, capsized after it crashed against the debris of a sunken ship close to the Paradip port operational area.
It may be recalled that a Mongolian ship had sunk off Paradip coast on 9 September 2009. However, the wreckage of the sunken ship is yet to be removed from the seawater causing hindrances to crafts and restricting vessel movement.
According to sources, the crews of the mechanised boat could not sight the debris and the boat capsized after it ran into the debris.
The crews of another vessel who were involved in sea fishing nearby rescued all the six fishermen of the ill-fated boat, officials of Paradip marine police station stated.
