Berhampur, Dec 28 (Localwire): Vigilance sleuths on Friday identified properties worth over Rs 1.06 crore from the Baliguda forest division forester in Bramhanigaon of Kandhamal district.
According to sources, the properties owned by forester Kailash Sahu included five buildings: three at Baliguda, one each at Sarangagada in Kandhamal district and Nimakhandi near Berhampur.
Besides, he also has two plots at Sarangagada and Baliguda, the value of which is yet to be ascertained, Berhampur vigilance superintendent of police Mayadhara Swain said.
Sahu also owns a tractor, while the family has one motorcycle registered in the name of his son.
The total household articles found in his possession were estimated at Rs 4.73 lakh, while he has financial investments worth Rs 5.77 lakh, and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.03 lakh.
“His total properties might be higher, as the calculation was yet to be completed,” Swain said.
Earlier in the day, the anti-corruption agency personnel conducted a raid at his houses at Baliguda, Berhampur, Sarangagada, and office chamber at Bramhanigaon following an allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by him.
The simultaneous search was conducted at seven places by Berhampur vigilance division after the search warrants were issued by the Phulbani special judge, vigilance.
