Paradip, Jan 3 (LocalWire) A young businessman was stabbed to death by an addict at Banipat village under Kujang police limit, said police on Thursday.
Sources said Rashmiranjan Parida, 29, hailing from Banipat was successfully running his hardware shop at Baleipur and had even pressed his JCB machine in Paradip refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
Since a few days, his colleague Hiranya Rout had been demanding money from him to buy alcohol.
On Wednesnight, Parida accompanied with his colleagues, including accused Rout, to a feast, where all took liquor.
While walking their way home, under the influence of alcohol, Rout demanded money from Parida near Hanuman temple of Baleipur village. When Parida refused, Rout allegedly stabbed him with a bhujali.
A seriously injured Parida died on the way to SCB Medail College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, Kujang police has seized the dead body and sent it for autopsy.
Police have also detained accused Rout and interrogating him to know the cause of murder.
