Bhubaneswar, May 29 (Local Wire): The State Cabinet today gave approval for a revival package of Rs 17000 crore for the rural economy. It also paved way for several projects.
The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Some of the key points from the Cabinet decisions included-
-Special livelihood intervention planned to boost economy. To be implemented from June, 2020. Rs 17000 crore allocated for this.
–Govt approves amending Tourism Policy 2016 and allows IDCO to acquire land and make land bank to give it to industries.
-Govt to allow land for Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya premium free.
-UG courses on agriculture and allied sectors imparted by institutions like OUAT to get professional degree status.
-Pre-school kids to get pair of socks, shoes and sweaters
-Hike of VAT on petrol and diesel and Amendments to Odisha GST Act approved.
-OREDA to be moved from Science and Technology Department to Energy Department to bring more investments.
-Tender of Rs 230 crore to be passed for irrigation canal.
-Two ordinance relating to Cooperation department passed to boost agricultural activities.
-Cash credit of Rs 15 crore approved for Aska Cooperative Sugar Mills.
-Amendment to labour laws approved to allow women to work at night shifts.
