Bhubaneswar, July 18 (LocalWire): The state government today warned hospitals of legal actions if they deny treatment to patients coming from hotspot districts.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today said that it was ethically wrong on part of the hospitals to deny treatment to patients who come to their campus seeking treatment.
“Patients needing medicare at hospitals/clinics need urgent attention.
Instances have come of some private hospitals reluctant in admitting patients from hotspots districts,” he said.
He also added, “It is ethically wrong and illegal.
Be informed that government action against wrongdoers will be serious,”
This comes after several incidents have been reported that patients under emergency conditions coming from hotspot districts like Ganjam in hospitals of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are denied treatment.
