Bhubaneswar, May 11 (LocalWire): An army of volunteers from the NGO “Grace a Meal” are reaching out to every nook and corner of the city, offering soothing summer drinks and snacks to hundreds of aid workers toiling in the sweltering heat for relief and restoration work.
“A simple task of distributing refreshments in the scorching heat proved too much for us, we wonder how these men from NDRF and ODRAF are working day and night to restore the city,” said a volunteer.
The humanitarian workers have been working tirelessly to restore electricity and clear the roads from fallen trees and storm debris.
It’s a token of appreciation for their precious supprt, he added.
“If you happen to come across people working day and night clearing the mess after the Cyclone Fani, stop by and offer them cool refreshments.
“That is probably the most important thing they need in the scorching heat to prevent them from dehydration or sunstroke,” he added.
Grace A Meal is a social initiative of FoodFindo Network and it has collaborated with different restaurants across the city to distribute food to the needy and humanitarian workers.
FoodFindo is a Facebook community of food and cooking enthusiasts, bloggers and writers launched by Cuttack-based entrepreneur Rohit Srivastava. Explaining the idea behind the Grace A Meal initiative, Rohit said only “Grace” can touch people’s lives and bring smiles on their faces.
FoodFindo has grown into one of the largest food communities, boasting a 100,000-member community across the country, he added.
