Bhubaneswar, Mar 4 (LocalWire): The state government has now decided to distribute around 20 lakh entitlement cards to the households who are yet to get pucca houses from the government.
The entitlement cards from the government will work like a certificate of guarantee that they are entitlement for a pucca ghar and will be included under the housing scheme.
Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena Wednesday told media that the distribution of the cards will start from March 5 and will end on March 31,2020 with the first card to be distributed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.
Later the ministers and the MLAs will be entrusted with the task of entitlement card distribution.
Jena said “On March 5 we are going to observe the Panchayati Raj divas.
The CM will start the campaign Thursday to distribute the entitlement cards to the beneficiaries of the pucca ghar scheme.
Around 20 lakh such beneficiaries from the state will be given the cards. Such beneficiaries will be given the cards at their Block Level,”
He also added that the campaign to distribute the cards will start from March 5 and will end on March 31.
Jena said all the ministers have already been informed about the posting where they will take part in the card distribution works.
The department on Wednesday issued directives on the way the cards will be issued and distributed. It has been planned that after the department sends the printed cards and holograms, the BDOs will put the names and serial numbers after downloading the data of the beneficiaries from the government website.
The ministers and MLAs on the other side will chair the meetings in such camps and will give away the entitlement cards. Each camp has been given the fund of Rs 20000 for organizing such camps successfully.
