Bhubaneswar, Dec 21 (LocalWire): The Bhubaneswar Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court on Friday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take Kolkata-based chit fund accused journalist Suman Chattopadhyay on three-day remand.
Chattopadhyay was produced before the CJM Court here on Friday for his alleged complicity with I-Core group chit fund scam, after his arrest by CBI on Thursday from West Bengal.
Chattopadhyay is editor of a leading Bengali daily and also the director of Disha Productions and Media Private Limited (DPMPL).
The CBI, who is probing into the chit fund scam, found a large portion of fund of the I-Core firm was transferred to DPMPL’s account and the scribe’s personal account that led to his arrest.
The CBI took him on remand to elicit more details and involvement of other influential people in the case.
