Nabrangpur, June 27 (LocalWire): Eminent freedom fighter Mohammed Bazi passed away today at his residence. He was 102.
Chief Minister Naveen Patanik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took to Twitter to express their condolence to the bereaved family.
Md Bazi was born on 28 January 1917 in the tribal district Nabarangpur of Odisha.
He was influenced by freedom fighters like Radha Krushna Biswasray (better known as Koraputia Gandhi).
He had participated in the freedom movement against the British on Mahatma Gandhi’s call.
After Independence, Baji was active in the Sarvodaya movement and was the chairman of Utkal Gandhi Smarak Nidhi.
