Bhubaneswar, December 9 (LocalWire):The centre has released Rs 7,776 crore to Odisha for agriculture and rural infrastructure development in past three financial years.
Replying to a starred question, Finance Minister Nimala Sitharaman in a written reply informed this in Lok Sabha on Monday.
The funds were routed through National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the form of loan assistance to State Government and State owned corporations for investments in agrarian and rural infrastructure development sectors, the minister said.
While 6088 projects were approved and Rs 2515.33 crore were disbursed in 2016-17, 18188 projects to the tune of Rs 2512.36 crore were approved in 2017-18.
The centre had sanctioned 12010 projects and released Rs 2749.63 crore to the State in 2018-19, she added.
