Bhubaneswar, May 25 (LocalWire): Chandrani Murmu, 25, became the youngest ever women to enter the Lok Sabha after she defeated two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak from Keonjhar on a BJD ticket.
Murmu, who hails from Tikargumura village in Keonjhar district and holds a BTech degree from SOA University, defeated Nayak by 66,203 votes. She is likely to take oath as MP next week.
Earlier, Dushyant Chautala, who’s the grandson of veteran politician Om Prakash Chautala, became the youngest Lok Sabha member at the age of 26.
Wishes were pouring in from all quarters for Murmu despite being a newbie in politics after she bagged 5,26,359 votes despite being a newcomer in politics.
