Bhubaneswar, May 20 (LocalWire): The chariot construction for the annual Rath Yatra of Puri Srimandir is in full swing after the electricity supply which was disrupted in cyclone Fani was restored.
The construction work is underway at Ratha Khala, the organizers told LocalWire.
While the work on nine ‘Tumba’ and ‘Bindha’ for Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath has been completed, construction of six ‘Tumba’ of Taladhwaja for the chariot of Balabhadra and five ‘Tumba’ for Debadalana chariot of Goddess Subhadra is nearing completion, an organizer said.
Similarly, ‘Kanaguja’ work of the three chariots has begun from Nrusingha Chaturdashi.
The ‘Guja Anukula’ was held on Saturday and Rupakar servitors are providing all kinds of assistance in the construction work,” said chief carpenter of the Taladhwaja chariot, Narasingha Mohapatra.
