Berhampur, Oct 28 (LocalWire): Mystery shrouds the death of a 23-year old woman at Motabadi under Ganjam district’s Buguda police station limits, whose charred body was recovered by the police from the house on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Punarbashi Gouda, wife of Chitrasen Gouda, a farm worker.
The deceased has two daughters, a four year old and a seven month old, police said.
Police surmised that the woman might have committed suicide by setting herself ablaze after pouring the kerosene.
No one was in the house during the incident. While one of her daughters was playing outside the house, the other daughter was sleeping in another room, said inspector in-charge, Buguda Chitta Ranjan Behera.
The mother-in-law of the deceased woman informed the police after discovering the charred body of her daughter-in-law lying inside the house.
The IIC said that they had not received any complaint from the family of the deceased on her death.
“We have registered a case and the investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the death,” he added.
