Keonjhar, Jan 31 (LocalWire):In his one-day trip to Keonjhar district, Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, inaugurated the Anandpur Barrage, laid the foundation stone of various drinking water projects and attended the platinum jubilee of B. N. High School, Anandpur.
The CM inaugurated the 490 meters long barrage over river Baitarani which was constructed at the cost of Rupees 475 crore to provide irrigation facility to about 60,000 farmlands in Keonjhar and Balasore districts.
Sources informed LocalWire that the capacity of the barrage is about 350 lakh cubic meters.
From this project, the farmers of Anandpur, Ghasipura and Hatadihi block of Keonjhar district and Khaira, Nilagiri, Oupada, Bahanaga, Balasore, Remuna and Soro blocks of Balasore district will be benefitted.
Besides this, the CM also attended the platinum jubilee celebration at the B. N. High School at Anandpur and laid foundation stones of different developmental projects including drinking water and road projects in a function organised at the Anandpur stadium.
Information and Public Relation Minister Raghunandan Das, Minister Premananda Nayak, Keonjhar MP Chandrani Murmu, MLA Badrinarayan Patra, Bhagirathi Sethy among others accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit to Keonjhar.
