Berhampur, June 21(LocalWire): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with activists from Childline rescued six minor children from the railway station here on Wednesday.
The children, all aged between 15 to 17 years are from Kodala in Ganjam district and were rescued from near the ticket counter while waiting for a Chennai bound train.
During counseling, the children informed that they were going to someplace near Chennai to work in a spinning mill.
They, however, did not disclose the name of the person who had organised their travel.
According to the Railway Child Help Desk (RCHD) coordinator Kalyan Kumar Singh, the children were later produced before the district child welfare committee.
