Bhubaneswar, September 10 (LocalWire): Protesting against the substandard food and poor living condition at the school hostel, 36 students of a government-run residential school for tribal children in Rayagada district fled from the institution on Tuesday.
The aggrieved students, majority of them girls, from Bishela residential school in Rayagada headquarters block, marched towards the Collectorate leaving both the civil and police administration in a quandary.
The students’ grievances are being addressed to, said an official of the district welfare department.
According to sources, the students have alleged that the living condition at the hostel was inhospitable and the quality of food being served was substandard.
The protesting students also alleged that the hostel did not have any medical care facility.
