Berhampur, Dec 10 (LocalWire) Wildlife officials on Monday said they have arrested one more hunter from Kalupada jetty in Chilika lake and seized seven dead birds of three different species from him.
Bhaskara Pradhan (50) of Barunapada was arrested on Sunday while he was hunting waterfowls in the lake by the patrolling anti-poaching squads, said Tangi wildlife range officer Subash Chandra Behera.
The officers seized seven dead birds of three different species packed in a gunny bag, a boat and a bamboo stick used to kill migratory birds from him.
The dead birds are included four Large Whistling Ducks, two Moorhen and one Pheasant Tailed Jacana, popularly known as PT Jacana.
With these, the wildlife personnel in Tangi range have registered nine cases in last one month. As many as 11 bird poachers were arrested, he said.
