Berhampur, Jan 29 (LocalWire) Several victims of a chit fund organization here on Tuesday staged a rally and threatened to resort to relay dharna in front of the office of the organization from Wednesday.
Hundreds of depositors walked the rally to the revenue divisional commission, southern division here and submitted a memorandum demanding return of their hard-earned invested money.
“Even though the special chit fund court on December, 23, 2015 had directed the government to refund the money to investors by identifying them, none at Golden Land Developers’ Private Limited got their invested money back so far,” said Bikram Kumar Beheruka, convener of Golden Land Victimized Investors Association.
“Though the investors have been identified, none of them got refund. Even though they are running from pillar to post, no one is listening to their grievances,” said Bal Krushan Pradhan, secretary of the association.
He said around 9 lakh investors are there across the state, out of which around 6 lakh are from Ganjam district.
“The state government has appointed a commissioner to expedite the process of refund of ponzi firms. But nothing has been materialized so far,” said Pradhan.
