Bhubaneswar, Mar 27 (Local Wire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a special relief package of Rs 2200 crore to help the poor and marginalized persons from the state.
The CM announced the move in a video message. He said that he has allocated R 2200 crore for the purpose which will be used by the poor, beneficiaries of food security schemes, construction labourers and beneficiaries of other schemes.
The CM said that the state will give allocations of three months in advance to the food security beneficiaries while the 94 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme will also be entitled to Rs 1000 per household assistance.
The CM also said that all the 48 lakh beneficiaries of social schemes will also get four months of their allowance in advance. Patnaik also extended Rs 1500 assistance to each of the 22 lakh construction workers in the state.
