Bhubaneswar, Nov 13 (LocalWire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed all the party MLAs to be punctual and sincere in attending the Assembly proceedings.
Addressing the BJD Legislature Party meeting ahead of the beginning of the winter session of the state Assembly, Patnaik, who is also the party chief, said legislatures who want to remain absent from the House for more than two days will have to take his permission.
‘I am very serious about members’ attendance (in the Assembly) this time.’
The BJD Legislature Party should use technology to monitor members’ attendance and also effectively collect material to actively participate in the discussion, he said.
Patnaik said like BJD MPs, who have been asked to submit their bi-monthly activity report, party MLAs would also have to submit bi-monthly report to him.
Stating that BJD would encourage constructive criticism by the Opposition, he said the party is ready to discuss any issue raised on the floor of the Assembly.
The ruling BJD is in an advantageous position following the victory of the party’s candidate in the Bijepur and Patkura Assembly constituencies and a slew of measures taken in the health sector in the states.
