Bhubaneswar, August 18 (LocalWire): In a high-level meeting held today, the Chief Minister discussed the COVID-19 situation in the state and measures that need to be adopted in the future.
The CM directed concerned officials to adopt a location specific strategy for Khordha, Cuttack, Sundargarh and Rayagada in order to reduce positivity rate within a week.
Patnaik also directed the setting up of a plasma bank in Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, within the coming week.
The CM emphasized on extensive home isolation as there are more asymptomatic patients in the state and advised the PRIs and Covid Care Committees to work in that direction.
He expressed satisfaction with the crossing of one million test milestone and testing capacity of 50,000 samples daily.“Odisha became the leading state in the country by performing 1096 tests per million per day,” he said.
Apart from discussing the COVID-19 situation, the CM expressed his appreciation for the Odisha Fire Service Personnel and Home Guards for saving as many as 45 people marooned in the flood water of Saberi river in Malkangiri.
It may be noted that the Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management made an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Malkangiri district, which was later reviewed in a meeting with senior officers.
