Bhubaneswar, April 26 (Local Wire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday held talks with Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to pave way for easy return of stranded Odia migrants in Gujarat.
The meeting was undertaken through video conferencing where Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan too participated.
Patnaik has now appealed to his counterpart in Gujarat for smooth movement of stranded migrants in organized manner through special buses.
He has also requested to waive of taxes for buses bringing the migrants.
As per the discussion, two officials each from the state will be a part of a committee which will supervise the mission.
The CM is said to be trying to contact others CMs of Indian states to bring back their stranded migrants.
The state government has meanwhile has also arranged mandatory registration and quarantine services for all the new persons coming to the state from outside.
