Jagatsinhgpur, March 11 (LocalWire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was on Sunday in an inauguration and foundation laying spree, just moments before Election Commission imposed the model code of conduct for April 2019 general elections.
Anticipating the EC announcement would come anytime, Patnaik hurriedly inaugurated and laid foundation stones of a slew of projects through video conferencing in afternoon, said a source.
Patnaik inaugurated a bridge on Devi river, connecting Bhokanji with Mundilo in Jagatsinhgpur, which is estimated to cost over Rs.31 crores.
He also laid a foundation stone for upgradation of Devi river embankment, from Mugurpal to Bandar, at a cost more than Rs.33 crores.
Local MP Kulamani Samal, deputy chairman of state planning board and collector Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
