Jajpur, March 2 (LocalWire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated a rural campus of the Utkal University at Siha village in the district.
The chief minister said, “This campus will help students, academicians, researchers in their quest for knowledge.”
The campus is spread over 66 acres in the village.
“The vocational courses on rural development and other subjects in the campus will help students to get employment. Student from the rural areas many times find it difficult to access university education in big cities. This campus will help bridge the gap,” Patnaik said.
On July 31, 2017, Higher Education Minister Ananta Das had laid the foundation stone for the campus.
Patnaik also inaugurated five projects and laid foundation stones for eight others worth Rs.152 crores during his whirlwind tour of Barachana block of Jajpur district.
“Our objective of all rural development programmes is to improve the quality of life in villages,” the chief minister said.
Barachana MLA Amarprasad Satapathy, Higher Education Minister Ananta Das, Bari MLA Debashis Nayak, Korei MLA Akash Das, Dharmasala MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantaray and others were present at the meeting.
