Berhampur, April 11 (LocalWire): Chief Minister Naveen Pantaik on Thursday during a whirlwind tour to Daringibadi and Raikia in Kandhamal Parliamentary constituency lashed out at the Centre for stalling the KALIA scheme due to the implantation of the model code of conduct.
Patnaik had lodged a complaint to the chief electoral officer and urged him to allow the implementation of the scheme, which is his pet project, for the benefit of thousands of farmers in the state recently,
‘The Central leadership only remembers Odisha during elections. They came to the state only to give false assurances,’ he added.
The CM condemned the Centre for not increasing the minimum support price of paddy but collected the money for crop insurance from the farmers.
‘They have no sympathy towards the farmers but shed crocodile tears during the elections,’ he said.
The BJD president also accused the Centre for not laying railway lines in Kandhamal district, even after 72 years of independence.
‘We have given land and also revenue. But they did not lay the line in the district, he said.
It may be noted, Kandhamal has no railway line even though the people demanded the extension of the Berhampur-Phulbani railway line. The CM also castigated the BJP government at the Centre for stopping the Koraput-Bolangir-Kalahandi yojana in the state and for the non-release of monthly scholarships for the SC/ST students for last two years.
