Baripada, Jan 30 (LocalWire) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday laid foundation stones for several projects in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district.
Addressing ‘Mission Shakti’ convention at Chhau Ground in Baripada, Patnaik announced a Ring Road will be constructed here to tackle flood situation.
He said the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government will urge the Centre to revive and restore license of Baripada Urban Co-operative Bank. He promised financial support to it from state fund.
Patnaik said efforts are on to upgrade Baripada Ayurvedic College into a state-run government college.
The CM said a Chhau Dance Research Centre will be opened in Baripada to popularize the folk dance form.
Earlier on Wednesday, Patnaik inaugurated a bridge over Champa river on National Highway (NH) -19 in Baripada.
He also attended the opening of Mother and Child Care Unit at Udala.
Other projects inaugurated by the CM included girls’ hostels in Maharaja Purna Chandra (Autonomous) College (MPC) and MPC (Junior) College, three pipes for drinking water supply and a bridge over Budhabalanga river.
