Berhampur, Dec 3 (LocalWire): Ganjam district administration launched ‘Madhu App’, the first-ever syllabi-based e-learning App in Odia language for school students.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the android-based App, named after Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das, the chief architect of modern Odisha, over video conference. He also interacted with some students about the new initiative.
Madhu App is an attempt to provide textbook-based content to students through mobile phone, which will help them clear their doubts at their own pace of learning, said Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
Videos of best teachings in different subjects have been uploaded in the App, which they can download from Google Playstore free of cost and follow the teachings, he added.
‘Nowadays, many students have access to mobile phones even in rural areas.
‘Classroom in mobile’, will help refresh their memories to recapitulate what was taught in the classroom,’ Kulange said.
In the first phase, videos and exercises of two subjects, Science and Mathematics for class V to VIII and some chapters of Class X have been developed, said district education officer (DEO) Sanatan Panda.
The practice tests for Class X students under DREAM (Drive for result enhancement in annual matriculation examination) have also been enclosed.
It will also help to check private coaching and help parents guide their wards to study at home. ‘The initiative is focusing on 5Es of education energy, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate, he added.
After completing all chapters of Maths and Science, e-learning contents of other subjects and classes will be added, he said.
Besides, some additional features relevant to students would be added in phases, said DEO.
