Bhubaneswar, Mar 25 (Local Wire): Several MPs and MLAs from the state have now come forward to donate their salaries and MPLAD or MLALAD funds after the Chief Minister started the trend in the state.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik earlier announced donating three months of his salary for the cause while he went on to dedicate his MLALAD funds on Wednesday for his constituency to ensure the treatment and management of COVID 19.
Several other party leaders have now followed the footsteps of the CM and went ahead with their part of donations for COVID 19 management.
Party MLA Pranab Prakash Das, Rajya Sabha MPs Amar Patnaik and Sasmit Patra and others have now announced donating their salaries and legislator funds for helping in the management of COVID 19.
This comes after many doctors and hospitals are struggling with adequate safety measures to tackle such a health crisis.
Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das said, “Wrote to Jajpur administration pledging my entire MLA-LAD fund of 2020-21 towards fighting COVID 19 in my constituency. Every life is precious and every bit counts,”
Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik also dedicated his MPLAD funds. He said, “I have just informed Collector, Sundergarh to release Rs 1 crore from my MPLAD to the Health Departnent, Govt of Odisha for purchase of ventilators and other equipments required for gram panchayat level Temporary Health Camps announced by the CMO.”
