Berhampur, February 28 (Localwire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit Gajapati district today to inaugurate development projects worth over Rs 600-crore and lay the foundation stones.
Security has been beefed up in the erstwhile Maoist-dominated area in view of the CM’s visit. He will also address farmers, who have been benefited under the state’s newly-launched Kalia scheme at Garabandh, near Paralakhemundi.
‘We have deployed around 17 platoons of security forces’ SP (Gajapati) Sara Sharma said as reports of massive combing operations came in from the district.
During his visit, the chief minister is scheduled to inaugurate 57 different projects worth Rs 48.84 crore in Kasinagara, Goshani, Gumma and Rayagada blocks. He will also lay foundation stones for the mega drinking water projects at Kasinagara, Mohana and Gumma blocks worth more than Rs 400 crore.
Apart from these, he will also lay foundation stones of over 780 different development projects across the state. The estimated cost of the projects was around Rs 582 crore, official sources said.
