Bhubaneswar, March 24(LocalWire): Naveen Patnaik, while addressing his first election rally at Nayagarh this afternoon, accused the Centre of neglecting Odisha. He said he believed BJD would play a crucial role in national politics as no party was sure to get a majority to form government at the Centre.
‘No national party will get a clear mandate and BJD will play an important role in government formation at the Centre. It is a golden opportunity for us. BJD will win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in this election. We are the only party in the country to give 33 percent reservation to women. The party was the first to come up with KALIA scheme for upliftment of farmers,’ said Patnaik.
Patnaik also accused the Central government of neglecting the state on issues like railway network that is very poor, the Mahanadi and Polavaram projects and the coal royalty revision.
The chief minister also reiterated the demand of special category state for Odisha. ‘Time has come for the people to fight against the historical neglect to the state. We are at the command of the people. I urge the people of the state vote for BJD,’ said the party supremo.
