Bhubaneswar, July 17 (LocalWire): On International Justice Day today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appreciated the role of the judiciary in eradicating criminal activities from society.
Patnaik tweeted, ‘Robust judiciary enshrined in our Constitution is vital to prevent crimes that threaten human rights, victims’ rights disturb peace and security in society.’
He asked fellow citizens to reiterate commitment to reinforce trust and solidarity among communities for a just world.
International Criminal Justice Day is observed on 17 July across the globe every year to celebrate the anniversary of adoption of the Rome statute treaty in 1998 which extended help for establishment of the International Criminal Court.
As injustice is the biggest threat to society, this day is celebrated every year to unite people willing to support justice, promote victims’ rights and help prevent crime as a movement against those who put peace, security and prosperity of the world at risk.
