Bhubaneswar, Dec 30 (LocalWire): Normal life continued to remain paralyzed in Kandhamal on Sunday under intense cold wave condition that has gripped the district for last few days.
Hill town Daringibadi recorded a lowest temperature of 3 degree Celsius while the district headquarters town Phulbani witnessed 4.5 degree Celsius.
People of the hill town Daringibadi woke up to a frosty morning with white dew on roof tops and tree branches.
The interior parts of the district including Baliguda, Bramhanigaon, Kotagarh, Belaghara, Raikia and Phiringia also experienced severe cold as the minimum temperature in these pockets dipped lower than the temperature in Phulbani.
A blanket of fog engulfed almost all areas in morning hours causing low visibility conditions and affected the flow of vehicular traffic.
Tourists, however, thronged to Daringibadi, situated at an altitude of about 280 meters above the sea level, well-known as the coldest place in the state and “Kashmir of Odisha”, to enjoy the cold climate of the hill town.
