Bhubaneswar, January 1 (Localwire): Cold wave condition continues to sweep across Odisha with the mercury dipping to 6.8 degree Celsius in Keonjhar, making it the coldest place in the state at 8.30 am on the new year’s day.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the state will continue to witness the cold wave condition for at least the next 72 hours.
Keonjhar was followed by Angul district, which recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degree Celsius, the Meteorological Centre here said.
Besides, the mercury stood at 8.9 degrees in Talcher, nine degrees in Phulbani, 9.6 degrees in Subarnapur district.
The mercury stood at 12.6 degree Celsius in state capital Bhubaneswar, while neighbouring Cuttack city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.8 degree Celsius.
Malkangiri continued to be the hottest place in the state recording a minimum temperature of 17 degree Celsius, the Meteorological Centre stated.
