Bhubnaeswar, June 4 (Local Wire): The state government has now asked all the Collectors to strengthen their scrutiny of communities in their areas to thwart the chances of spread of Coronavirus in the community.
A meeting into this regard was undertaken by the State Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy with all the Collectors and SPs of the 30 districts.
Tripathy took a stock of the preparedness and also directed it to increase the surveillance.
“Close to 4.5 lakh people have now arrived from outside states.
Many of those are discharged from quarantine centres and will remain in home quarantine.
We have to keep strict vigil and enforce the laws,” Tripathy told the Collectors and SPs present in the meeting via video conferencing.
The Collectors have been asked to constitute ward-level committees for more de-centralised monitoring of the situation.
They have been asked to ensure that social distancing and other COVID rules are followed strictly despite partial relaxation allowed from the lockdown.
