Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 (LocalWire): In an attempt to ease the process of Learners Licence (LL) and Driving Licence (DL) and vehicle registration, the state government has decided to engage common service centers (CSCs) for bettering the online service delivery system.
The online application for DL, LL, and registration certificate (RC), ownership transfer and revenue collection would now be available at the CSCs operating in different parts of the state, officials said.
The state government is laying emphasis on online mode to reduce footfall in Regional Transport Offices, which are now bearing enormous workload in the wake of enforcement of the amended Motor Vehicle Act, 2019, officials said.
‘Through online DL system, any eligible applicant can apply either for learners’ license or driver’s license from any place to any RTO in the state.’ It will be extended to CSCs by first week of December.
Service charges for LL or DL would be collected online which would reduce the unending queues in RTO offices.
Documents can also be uploaded online in this system.
The government has set a target to cover around 12 lakh people through online mode with extension of services to CSCs.
The online services will also include among other things the endorsement and cancellation of hypothecation, change of address, fitness certificates and renewal of RC.
Slot booking, payment of fees and document uploading for these services will be done online, the officials added.
