Bhubaneswar, Sept 15 (LocalWire): The Odisha Congress Tuesday raised their objection against the alleged move of the Odisha Assembly to cut down the Question Hour from the assembly proceedings.
Congress leader Taraprasad Bahinipati Tuesday told the media that it would not tolerate abolition of the Question Hour and put forth its demand for an all party meeting for more clarity on the proceedings of the upcoming Monsoon Session.
“I urge the Speaker to convene an all party meeting three days before the sessions. We need more clarity on how the proceedings have been planned for the session,” he said.
He said that the communication received from the Odisha Assembly Secretary has not clearly addressed the issue of conduct of the Question Hour, Zero Hour and Adjournment Motion.
The BJD however said that the Assembly is following the Parliament system amid the Coronavirus outbreak.
“This session will be little restricted due to Coronavirus issue. We are following the Parliament system and they have also adopted the same process,” BJD MLA Amar Satpathy said.
He also said that many states have also abolished the question hour during the Coronavirus outbreak time.
