Bhubaneswar, March 16(LocalWire)In a jolt to the Congress, Salepur legislator Prakash Chandra Behera today resigned from the primary membership of the national party. Speculations are rife that the legislator is likely to join BJP in a couple of days.
In his resignation letter to the Congress national president Rahul Gandhi the MLA accused the state leadership of neglecting him.
Behera also alleged the state unit of humiliating him by removing him from the post of Cuttack district Congress Committee.
“In spite of my appeal to the PCC president, my grievance was not considered dully by the PCC,” read his resignation letter.
Behera became the third sitting MLA of the Congress party to resign in recent past.
Prior to his resignation Jharsuguda MLA Naba Das had quit the party while Koraput MLA Krushana Chandra Sagaria too had resigned from the party. Das and Sagaria has joined BJD and BSP respectively.
