Bhubaneswar, October 15 (LocalWire): A police officer in Puri district has been removed from his duty for clicking a selfie with a murder accused.
The Chadrabhaga marine police station inspector Bulu Munda had allegedly clicked a selfie with the accused and had circulated it on the social media platform.
“This sort of attitude is uncalled for from an officer who is heading the police station. He had infringed upon the service code of conduct, and also violated the police rules by clicking a selfie with the accused while on duty,” a senior police officer said.
Munda has been served a show-cause notice and has been asked to furnish a compliance report.
He has been transferred to the district police headquarters office and a probe has been launched into the matter.
Further disciplinary action will be taken against him after the findings of the probe report is submitted, the officer stated.
