Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (LocalWire): The State Information and Public Relations Department today said that the total reported cases of Coronavirus in the state touched 70,000 today as more number of people tested positive.
The department said that in the latest round of sample testing, a total of 2,898 more patients tested positive for the viral disease.
All the 30 districts are reported to have witnessed a rise of new cases.
Khurda district reported a staggering 524 new cases of the disease while it was followed by Cuttack which saw 241 new cases.
Other districts which reported more cases included-Ganjam (226 cases), Koraput 9132), Balasore (140) and Sundergarh (101).
The government claims that it has tested a total of 11,15,947 samples till now while the state is now home to 22,651 active cases.
Odisha has also reported till now the recoveries of a total of 46,935 cases.
