Bhubaneswar, April 29 (Local Wire): With the detection of new positive cases of Coronavirus, several districts earlier untouched from the global pandemic have become the latest victims of the viral disease.
A week ago the disease was reported only from 10 districts. 20 out of 30 districts remained untouched till recently. However with the detection of new cases from Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Keonjhar, the spread have now covered close to 50 per cent of the total districts of Odisha.
The government however expressed happiness with the fact that it has now three districts reporting no active cases and come under the definition of ‘Green Zone’.
Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of the government on Coronavirus said that districts like Puri and Cuttack have now come under Green Zone.
Bagchi also said that the state took 41 days to reach from its first case to 100 cases while some states took very short span. “It took Madhya Pradesh nine days to cross its 100 marks while in Maharashtra it was done in 16 days. However in Odisha it took 41 days to cross 100 marks,” he said.
