Bhubaneswar, Sept 8 (LocalWire): The State government today said that 13 more patients of Coronavirus succumbed to the viral infection in the latest round of sample testing.
According to government records, with the addition of new Coronavirus deaths the total deaths caused by the pandemic in the state touched 569 by today morning.
“Regret to inform of the demise of 13 Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals,” the state health department said in a statement.
A total of eight districts reported the new cases of Coronavirus deaths.
The highest deaths were reported from Puri district.
The districts which reported the new Coronavirus deaths included-Puri (3 deaths), Ganjam (2), Mayurbhanj (2). Raygada (2).
On the other hand one death each was reported from districts like-Khurda, Cuttack, Sonepur and Kandhamal.
Most of the deceased were elderly and with existing co-morbidities. The youngest among them to die was a 24-year-old from Mayurbhanj district who was suffering from Lamellar Ichthyosis and psoriasis with methotrexate toxicity.
