Bhubaneswar, Aug 13 (LocalWire): The infection graph of Coronavirus in Odisha today found its new peak as the state recorded its highest ever single day rise of staggering 1981 new cases, in the latest round of sample testing.
The state government said that all the 30 districts reported the detection of new cases of the viral infection with Khurda district reporting the highest of 274 new cases. It was followed by Ganjam which saw 267 new cases.
Kandhamal (179 cases), Sundergarh (145 cases) and Cuttack (131) also reported more cases, leading to more reporting of cases from the state.
The Odisha government claimed that out of the 1981 new cases detected, 1225 cases are from quarantine centres and 756 cases are from local contacts.
The government claims to have done a total of 7,65,065 tests till now.
The state has now a total of 15,808 active cases and a total of 36,478 recovered cases.
