Bhubaneswar, Aug 9 (LocalWire): Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das today said that the Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) in Cuttack could soon start facilities for Coronavirus testing.
Das spoke to the media today on the penetration of the disease in the city and the preparedness of the civic body.
“We have intensified testing for Coronavirus. We are mobilizing more mobile testing vans and also planning to start the facility of the testing at the UPHCs soon,” she said.
She also said that in the last one week, the district saw 641 new cases and out of that 46 per cent cases were from Malgodown containment zone.
“This week we saw 641 new cases. Close to 46 percent cases were from the containment zone and 33 per cent were from home quarantine.” she said.
The official also said that seven COVID Care Centres are functional in the city with 1235 bed capacity while a total of 97 Coronavirus patients have also been using the Home Isolation facilities under the monitoring of the local PHC and Ward Committees.
