Bhubaneswar, December 21 (LocalWire): The cricket fever has gripped the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar with the Barabati Stadium all set to host the third day-and-night match between India-West Indies one day international (ODI) series on Sunday.
With both teams winning one match each and the match is a series decider, cricket fans are looking forward to an exciting contest between the two countries and expect team India to get the better of the Caribbeans.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricketers had a grueling net session on Saturday morning ahead of the all-important ODI.
The West Indies team will arrive at the Barabati stadium in the afternoon hours.
“Security has been stepped up at the stadium to keep a tab on the cricket-crazy crowd,” Odisha Cricket Association officials stated.
“We definitely wish for India’s victory. Still, we want calypso style of cricket from the West Indians. The belligerent strokes play of Windies batsmen has made them renowned globally. We hope Barabati crowd will witness glimpses of vintage batsmanship from the likes of Pollard, Hettmyr, Hope and Nicolas Pooran,” a cricket lover from Cuttack Mahendra Rout said.
“At the same time, Barabati crowd is poised for witnessing batting brilliance of India captain, Virat Koli. He has batted poorly so far in the three-match ODI series. He will definitely shine this time at Barabati if we go by the law of averages,” he stated.
