Berhampur, Dec 8 (LocalWire) Death of several crows at two villages near Chilika on Saturday triggered bird flu scare in the areas.
Wildlife personnel recovered carcasses of 31 crows, including 20 from Sialia and 11 from Alada Patna villages, near Krushna Prasad under Nuapada range of Chilika wildlife division.
Two of the dead birds were taken by veterinary doctors for testing.
“The exact cause of the deaths will be known only after the post-mortem examination and other necessary tests,” said Nuapada wildlife range officer Gangadhara Sahu.
The carcasses were brunt after recovery from the spot, he said.
He. however, said there is no report about similar deaths among migratory birds, visiting the blue lagoon, in the limits of the Nuapada range.
