Bhubaneswar, May 1 (Local Wire): The Cuttack-based Industrial Training Institute (ITI) has now developed a portable Coronavirus testing kiosk to reduce the chances of infection of the viral disease during collecting samples.
Such kiosks have been in the limelight in countries like South Korea or in other Indian states like Kerala and Jharkhand.
However it will be the first time that such an experiment has been done in the state to aid the health workers.
The kiosk has been provided with glass shields, electric fittings, a glove protruding outside to ensure the person collecting the sample does not come in physical contact with the infected person.
“This can reduce the exposure of the health workers when they take samples from suspected patients.
The kiosk can ensure social distancing and also it has the advantage of mobility due to the wheels attached to it,” said Hrushikesh Mohanty, Principal of the ITI.
The institute recently had come to limelight for coming up with two robots which was aimed at serving the COVID patients and reduce health worker and patient contacts for their follow ups, communication, drug administration and others.
