Bhubaneswar, April 29 (Local Wire): The Khapuria Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Cuttack has now developed two robots to assist the health workers in their treatment of Coronavirus patients in the state.
The mechanical subsititues have been jointly developed by the institute and SakRobotix Lab. These robots are of 3 feet height and are capable of carrying food, water, medicines and other essentials upto 20 kgs.
They have been equipped with moving wheels to reach out to the patients to serve them.
The developers have come up with the innovation to reduce human to human contact and thus reducing the chances of spread of the highly contagious disease in COVID Hospitals.
The robots have wireless communication systems too.
Hrushikesh Mohanty, Principal of Khapuria ITI said, “These robots allow the doctors to converse with the patients through the robots.
Our lecturers who developed the robots have received applause for their maverick works.”
