Bhubaneswar, Sept 30 (LocalWire): The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in their latest annual data of ‘Crimes in India-2019’ claimed that Odisha reported the highest number of cyber crime cases against women.
The report claimed that a total of 390 such cases were reported in the state last year which was the highest in the entire country.
The report also claimed that the Crime Rate of 103 in Odisha in terms of cases of crimes against women is also alarming.
The report said that Odisha was ranked 4th in the country for reporting the highest Crime Rate after states like Assam, Rajasthan, Haryana and others.
The report also put light on the cases of sexual offences against children in the state. The report said that the state reported the highest number of child pornography cases. It is said to have seen 542 such cases last year.
Not only this, Odisha reported the second highest cases of outrage to modesty of women.
It is said to have also seen a total of 342 cases of dowry deaths. However Uttar Pradesh and Bihar reported the highest crimes of dowry deaths.
In terms of human trafficking, Odisha was ranked 4th in the country with 79 reported cases of the crime last year.
