Bhubaneswar, April 10 (Local Wire): The Odisha Police has now raised alarm regarding surged cases of cyber frauds during the lock down and Coronavirus threat. It claimed that several cyber criminals are using the crucial time to dupe people of their hard earned money.
It has now issued advisory to make the people aware about such cases.
The department said that the online fraudsters are now approaching citizens offering their said services through fake and malicious website offering Coronavirus tracking, drugs, vaccines, sanitizers and masks at unbelievable prices.
“Many of these scammers are running spam campaigns of selling masks, sanitizers, coronavirus vaccines etc on online shopping portals exploiting the feat of coronavirus among people,” the Crime Branch warned.
In many cases they also threaten to spread the disease among the family members of the trapped citizens.
The Crime Branch of Odisha police has asked people not to respond to such emails and messages to ensure safety.
